Initial Emial

Hello all,

I am writing you to let you know the website about the school I am going to aide in Africa is now up and running. For those of you who are unaware and those of you who are uninformed, I am going to be leaving at the end of this month to contribute to a school, The Evangelical Language School in Burkina Faso, with labor and financial assistance. Specifically, I am helping Jeremie Nitiema, a pastor at the church Bethel Sandogo in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and the head of the ELCBF, raise money to establish a medical facility to help provide simple medical care to just over 200 children from neighboring villages, as well as a number of orphans who survive close to the facility.

The ELCB is an evangelical school with the goals of helping uneducated youths learn French, English and their own language, Moore. The school also aides local university students with English composition and more importantly, pronunciation. Jeremie's hope as well as my own and several others who have aided the school over the past few years is that those who learn about Christ, Christianity and become fluent in English and French will be enabled to advance quickly in both government and private industry and help build the Burkanbe infrastructure to provide stability and economic opportunity for the people of Burkina Faso.

For now, however, there is little hope for a great number of children who have no access to medical care, clean water or electricity, and barely have enough food to get by.

The website is:

www.ELCBF.org

When I return in March I hope to have detailed information about each of the children and families who wish to be sponsored for food and medical aid. $200 will sponsor a child's food and medical needs through the school for a FULL YEAR. The school is also in need of expansion as Jeremie and his wife teach 140 people in a school that only has three classrooms, and has no direct electricity and only one faucet. Every penny given through the website right now, however, will go to aid the medical program.

Please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested, and if you are unable to give, God Bless, and I hope you are able to take the time to be informed!

This is the first email we have sent out to friends and family informing others about the school.

If you read it, please pass it on!! Thanks!
-H
